We are dedicated to assisting young people build a positive self-image, self-esteem, and confidence through a holistic approach that includes physical activity, support programs, community access, and modeling pro-social behavior. Our mission is to empower youth facing challenges, guiding them toward a brighter and more resilient future.
About the program
The Find Yourself Youth Support Program was founded by Ben Edwards, a former professional athlete with 15 years of experience in boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts and representative rugby league. Ben’s journey has seen both incredible highs, including multiple national and international championships, and challenging lows, such as battling anxiety and depression. Inspired by his experiences and passion for youth work, Ben became a high school youth worker in 2018. He went on to develop Find Yourself Youth Support Program in 2022.
Founded by Ben Edwards
Ben Edwards brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting young people. With qualifications in Youth Work (Certificate IV), Community Development, and Community Services (Certificate III), Ben is also Mental Health First Aid Accredited and trained in Suicide Intervention. His ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people—especially those facing behavioural challenges, disabilities, complex needs, or past trauma—reflects his deep commitment to making a difference.
Ben’s dedication to creating safe, supportive environments extends to physical well-being. He has completed specialised training in developing and instructing gym-based exercise programs, focusing on anatomy and physiology for safe and effective practice. Additionally, he has completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, holds a current first aid certificate, and has recently completed the Moral Injury Assess and Assist Course, further strengthening his ability to support individuals facing complex emotional and psychological challenges.
